OUR HISTORY
QUALITY CHILDREN EDUCATION
STEM International School is a Kenyan founded school . The visionary and proprietor is Lucy Nyawira Mwai. She sought to train global STEM professionals and Leaders with a spirit of excellence by equipping them with the necessary skills needed to excel in the 21st Century.
Lucy’s training and experience in the United States for over 20years, combined with her Kenyan origin led her to setup an American STEM and Leadership Curriculum Home school that became the first of its kind in Kenya. As a result, the school has attracted and currently hosts students from 16 countries as it steadily grows.

STEM International uses an American Curriculum, with a strong emphasis on STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) Education from Preschool – 12th grade.
Students at STEM International School enjoy the benefit of being in a small class setting. We facilitate a Christian environment that allows the children to grow in wisdom, stature and in favor with both God and Man.
Students are introduced to new levels of learning in Math, Science, English, Social Studies, STEM Connections, Creative Arts, Engineering, Technology, Physical Education and Community Service.
Parents at STEM enjoy parenting because their children are happy and empowered.
WHY STEM
HOME SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
STEM International Home school; K3-12th grade is located in the beautiful suburbs of Karen, Kenya.
The vision and physical realization of the STEM international home school is a result of understanding that STEM education is an economic imperative and that if students cannot learn the way we teach, then we must teach the way they learn.
At STEM International; Science Technology Engineering and Math is enjoyed equally by the girl and boy child.
STEM literacy is critical because it has a profound and growing impact on our day-to-day lives. It helps us make critical decisions about all areas of our lives. It’s more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. These are the types of skills that students learn by studying science, technology, engineering, and math—subjects collectively known as STEM.
STEM International classes comprise of not more than 10-15 students per class with are group like arrangement ensuring all students get maximum support from teachers.
Students at STEM International learn that even problems in dance and the arts must be solved through STEM literacy just as in any other areas. Students at STEM from K3 learn to apply the Engineering Design Process to become innovative problem solvers.
Most Importantly, through STEM Literacy students develop 21st century skills namely collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, problem solving and leadership. Equipped with these skills we illuminate the ever more complex issues that govern the future of our lives. The child in then equipped to be a 21st Century Leader.
